On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji JAH (ATA), the member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly and Engr. Olujimi Nunayon Hotonu, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure embarked on an inspection tour of Abiola – Onijemo Road and link bridge ahead of the rehabilitation work commencing soon.
Hon. Adewale Temitope said, It is highly imperative for the rehabilitation work to commence, as it is a way of reducing the man hours lost to vehicular traffic on a daily basis. The road will serve as an alternative and major route for residents, constituents and even passersby from other linking communities who ply the road. The commencement of rehabilitation works on the bridge and road project will put smiles on the faces of residents of constituency 01, who have entrusted their votes in him and the progressive party of APC in the local government.
The lawmaker also expressed concern on the failed portions of the road, he appealed to road users and assured that priority will be given as soon as the rain stops, when the government at the local and state level begin carrying out repairs.
”I want to sincerely appeal to road users in constituency 01 to be patient. We are pained by the hardship faced by motorists due to bad portions and should also try to understand that the present administration of H.E. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will continue to make life meaningful to all the citizenry as all sectors will receive their attention.”
Stakeholders at the inspection tour were Directors from Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, The APC Ifako- Ijaiye LG Chairman- Deacon Banjo Omole, Supervisor for Agricultural Services Ifako-Ijaiye LG- Hon. Femi Abiola Afikuyomi, The incumbent Baale of Onijemo axis and its environs- Chief Jelili Awelorun, Mr Akeem Yekinni and other members of the community.
